Survey Summary

2004 Hack Attack Golf Club Survey – Written Comments (Anonymous)

  1.    How about a two man partners tournament as part of the regular schedule?

  2.    Develop a "Hack Attack Website" and post everything, including annual membership forms, contact and member information, tournament sign-in sheets, tournament pairings, tournament results, etc., on this website.  Eliminate need to email or "snail mail" any information to club members.  Adhere to deadline dates for tournament entries.  Do not accept any entry forms after the deadline date.

  3.    I would like to assist as best as possible.  Unfortunately I cannot make all tournaments, but would be willing to help in whatever way possible.

  4.    We could move the two day to early October and not make Nish upset (doesn't like the hot weather).  Bring the two day on an annual basis to Temecula every year.  Party can be at the Bassi backyard.  Could rotate the courses in the area (plenty down here) and set up the BBQ.  Stop the annual SCGA tourney in January and make it a regular event for one of the two day events and then rotate the other tourney to another course in the area.  January could be a rotating course event at a new place up in LA  convenient to most of the group instead of Murrieta every year.

  5.    Question   #5 - You missed a choice: It doesn't matter what the course is like.

Question #10 - Making the website a more integral part of the process.

Question #12 - Don't know, I'm not sure how many actual members we have?

Question #13 - As long as I can afford the green fees then I'll pay and so far that has never been an issue.

         Question #16 - Within reason.

Question #17 - Yes to the first part but I like the survey as well. Next time we can do the entire survey from the website!!

  6.    Slow play SUCKS !!!!  Gimmie Rule?  Keep two day close by maybe don't have to stay over night.  Golf, eat and drink go home and play again in the morning.  I enjoyed the two day in Temecula and the best part was the party at Bassi's.  Lets go there every year !!!!!!!  As my kids get older there will be more and more scheduling conflicts.  Plus I work weekends and sometimes I am unable to get the day off.

  7.    In reference to Question #5 -   None considered.  Just happy to get to a course!

In reference to Question #6 -   When the kids get older, it'll be easier for me to get away.  But at the moment, just not feasible.  I hate to see the 2-day go away, but understand all the work and time involved.  Much thanks to all the Hack Attack Officials!!!

  8.    Thanks for the great job the both of you do.  Let me know how I can help out.

  9.    Thanks for doing a great job.  Go Chargers!!!

10.    I think everyone who is involved in the doing the work does an excellent job.  When I retire I will commit to doing work for the club.

11.    I guess the biggest issue was the distance of the courses.  It makes for a very long day when you need to drive out to Temecula or courses way out of LA.  You leave at 6 or 7 am, and don't get home till like 9 or 10.  Of course the 19th hole takes most of the time, but that is the most enjoyable hole.  I always prefered to play local courses, so you weren't so concerned about behaving on the 19th hole, knowing that you have a long drive.  I would rather play local courses, and wouldn't mind if it is the same course (eg. home course).  I feel more comfortable playing a course that I am familiar with, and my favorite hole is the 19th anyways.  Ideally though, have 2 or 3 courses and alternate them…or at least try and keep the courses within LA County.  Just make sure they have a comfortable 19th hole!  I know it might be more expensive to do that, but I would rather pay that and not worry so much about the drive.  Just my thoughts.  You guys do an outstanding job with the organization, and it is a huge task to do what you guys do.  You probably don't get the recognition for the work you guys do, but I do appreciate it.  Let me know if there are any tasks that I can help with.  Hopefully in a year or two, can get back full time into the club.  Take care guys, let me know if I can help.  Keep the club going, and I'll try my best to make some tourneys, or let me know how I can help.  You guys probably miss (my) bucks…I used to cut your green fees for the tourneys I used to be able to play.

12.    Maybe some different touney formats once a year.  Best ball, scramble, stableford scoring, Member/Guest, etc. could be fun.  2 day should have a cumulative low net.

13.    I think Bird should finish the program to make it all inclusive and we wouldn't have to wait for Fred to compile the results.

14.    If membership is dropping we should get new members, otherwise we don't have to.  If someone wants to bring in a new member, I think they should be able to do so.  Everyone in the club is very friendly and seems willing to welcome new members.  I'm willing to help if needed on anything that needs to be done except public speaking or posting scores (but I'll post if you need me to).

15.    Senior Pool (Champions Tour).

16.    Question   #3:  Saturday / Sunday option, I believe the members with small children will

need to start looking at Sunday options.  I would like to know what are the percentage of members with children who miss tournaments (Saturday) because of kids activities, and would it help to have Sunday events?  I know the ones that answered Question #17 would probably have an issue.

Question   #8:  I am wimp when it comes to hot weather so I vote for late October.

Question #12:  I feel it more important to consider the type of member rather than the number of members. The Hack Attack Golf Club is unique in its membership and think that needs to be preserved.

Question #16:  I think higher pots are great but we don't want to promote the unsportsman like incentives. "OK, CHEATING".

17.    You the men!  I am willing to help out where you need me and where I can.

18.    We should pursue friends and family to join but not advertise and get a bunch a people not connected with anyone in the club.

19.    I enjoy the 2 day tourneys and it does not matter when they are scheduled and as for the courses it does not really matter where we play as long as I can make it.

20.    Still a great club, with a great bunch of members.

21.    My only suggestion is to try and get the original Hack Attackers (pussywhipped) to play.

22.    Two-day on a Friday-Saturday.  Can drive home Sunday with hangover and mow the lawn.

23.    Have the wives babysit while the BIG HITTERS like myself are playing and drinking at the golf course.

24.    Question #11 –   Would be willing to pay more – since I haven’t had time to do my fair

                                       share of work/help.

Question #12 –   How about limit of 1-3 new members per year?

25.    You guys do a GREAT job.  Yes, the group is getting older.  That means more family commitments.  That means fewer can make the long trips.  That means fewer can make the 2-day event.  But for those who do make it, the events are well planned and organized.  They are a lot of fun.  Thanks for your hard work.

26.    Great job in crafting this survey.  You know that my biggest challenge is attending to my family.  I would love to play in all the tourneys and help out.
